As a Key Account Manager for Tarsus Distribution in Johannesburg, you will be responsible for ensuring that Tarsus’ customers always receive the highest quality customer service and that communications with customers are constant, accurate, and effective. By ensuring ongoing operational excellence at all times, you will be responsible for driving the sales activity to achieve specific sales and margin targets.

You will be expected to:

  • Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
  • Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using key account metrics.
  • Collaborate and focus on sales enablement with the Tarsus sales team.
  • Ensure an increase in the quote to invoice ratio.
  • Adhere to training and vendor certification requirements.
  • Comply with vendor specific requirements regarding reporting, pipeline management and forecasting.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Tertiary qualification is preferable; a diploma in sales or customer service is ideal
  • Financial and business acumen, including an understanding of ERP and CRM systems
  • 3+ years in a sales or customer service role (distributor/vendor/reseller preferable)
  • Demonstrable evidence of excellent customer relationship management, service delivery, and communications skills
  • Experience using digital sales tools in a customer-centric role
  • Knowledge of IT technology and distribution landscape
  • Experience working in the SADC region
  • This is an office-based position in the Woodmead branch
