Planning Assistant (JHB) - #422-01

Job Details:

If you are an operationally astute planning assistant with a passion for delivering optimised planning and forecasting outcomes, then this may be the role for you.

Do you look at stock management strategically at a business level, ensuring that finance and budgets are aligned with projected rollouts? Do you drive proactive collaboration and have you implemented lean demand and supply planning strategies, ensuring correct stock holdings and effective inventory management?

By ensuring the use of timely and accurate data to deliver actionable market insights for integrated business planning, you will impel the creation and use of a collaborative, holistic, and logical planning and forecasting methodology across Tarsus Distribution, standardising procedures for all products to create optimal business insight and operations.

You will be required to:

  • Highly analytical problem solver, with excellent negotiating skills
  • Proactive individual with a deep understanding of inventory management
  • MRP planning for All categories
  • Detailed analysis of forecasts for all categories
  • Uploading forecasts into the system
  • Collaborate with Product Managers on accepted forecasts and alignment with budget
  • Consolidate detailed forecasts and ensure it is provided by product managers timeously
  • Procurement function to place orders and follow the processes on given vendors
  • Ensure orders are aligned with approved forecasts and no orders bypass the process
  • Align with Integrated Business Planning process & OKR’s for the company
  • Assist Planning manager with planning & procurement related queries
  • Procurement admin for specific categories

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, ideally in a discipline such as Supply Chain, Planning,
  • Maths and Stats, or similar
  • 1+ years of experience in planning, MRP, or supply or demand planning
  • Experience in procurement
  • Experience with large inventory portfolios
  • Advanced Excel skills are critical
  • Previous planning tool experience essential (Embrace tool currently used)
  • Reliable transport
  • This is an office-based position in the Woodmead branch
