Job Details:

We are looking for two Planning Assistants who are operationally perceptive and passionate about delivering optimised planning and forecasting outcomes.


As a Planning Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective stock management at a strategic business level. You will collaborate across departments to align finance and budgets with projected rollouts while driving proactive collaboration. You will implement lean demand and supply planning strategies, ensuring correct stock holdings and effective inventory management.

Requirements:

Education

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, ideally in a discipline such as Supply Chain, Planning, Mathematics and Stats, or similar.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in planning, MRP, or supply or demand planning.
  • Experience in procurement and planning.
  • Experience with large inventory portfolios.
  • Prove experience using specific planning tools is essential.

Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly analytical problem solver, with excellent negotiating skills.
  • Proactive individual with a deep understanding of inventory management.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.

  • You are proficient in allocating time effectively for tasks, keeping deadlines, and ensuring that planning processes run smoothly and efficiently.

  • You ensure that the needs of clients or stakeholders are prioritised in the planning process, delivering quality outcomes that meet expectations.

Responsibilities

MRP Planning for All Categories

  • Responsible for the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) across all product categories to ensure optimal inventory management.

Detailed Analysis of Forecasts

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of forecasts for all product categories to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Uploading Forecasts

  • Ensure accurate and timely uploading of all forecasts into the system for seamless planning and execution.

Collaboration with Product Managers

  • Work closely with Product Managers to review and finalise forecasts, ensuring they are aligned with the budget and overall business objectives.

Consolidating Forecasts

  • Consolidate detailed forecasts from all categories, ensuring they are submitted by Product Managers on time.

Order Placement

  • Place orders with vendors, adhering to the defined processes for each, ensuring compliance with approved forecasts.

Alignment with Forecasts

  • Ensure that all orders align with the approved forecasts, with no bypassing of the established process.

Integrated Business Planning (IBP) & OKR Alignment

  • Ensure that planning activities are aligned with the company’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process and Key Objectives and Results (OKRs).

Planning and Procurement Support

  • Assist the Planning Manager with any queries related to planning and procurement processes.

Procurement of ETA’s and PO Review

  • Manage the procurement process by tracking Estimated Time of Arrival (ETAs) and reviewing Purchase Order (PO) data for specific categories.

Data Analysis

  • Utilise Excel to perform detailed data analysis for effective supply and demand planning.

Additional

  • Own reliable transport.
  • This is an office-based position in the Woodmead branch.
